It's that time again...

Where we make promises that are made to be broken, say things will change welcome what is yet to come, move ahead and step foward into the new year.

I like this time of year everyone is still laid back and freindly from Christmas, the nice weather is extremely inviting and generally there is a chiperness in the air.

So 2009,a good year I suppose, first year uni, new friends, old friends, family. My year summed up in eight words. Wish it was that easy.

Of course there were disappoinments and down times, but I choose not to remember those times to move foward to carry on and it really frustrats me when people can't do that.

Should I am resoloutions... probally but I'm not gpoing to write them here. In saying that I think I've done well with the resoloustion I made last for this year.
Ohoh, Life goes on. Things will be okay.

So to 2010 I say hello.

Edges!

I went to see EDGES: a Song Cycle! It was bloody fantastic!

This blog is named after one of the songs from the 'musical' it was fabulous, the singing was great the actors were awesome! it was great to see all the songs that i love way to much get performed!

Artist? Album? Genre?

So my music was not very organised tossed into a folder, added to my itunes never to be looked for again.

I like things to look good and I wanted my iTunes to look good, yes I am weird that way, and I wanted things to be ordered and nice on my ipod. So i deleted everything off my ipod and itunes and set to work placing all my music in the albums by artist, which too me a good week to do. Then I had the problem of where to I put the compilation albums/songs very difficult. Finally I did it all, backed it all up (thank god becuase my computer crashed the next week), and then loaded everything back in to itunes and then back on to my itunes

The general gist of my organisation.

I'm quite happy with it now, but i still have to get all the album art for my ipod, and that might take a while.. and a bit of bandwidth...

Money can't buy everything...

But it can buy lots of nice things!

I got a job finally! I'm working in a small hotel in the city, I'm mostly working Food and Beverage, but i'm also doing some reception work and also some housekeeping things, it's a very small hotel with only 34 rooms but that means I get expereince across all departments.

The people there are generally very nice, if not a bit cliquy, but nothing I can;t handel. My shift usually starts ar 7am, which is a killer if I went out the night before. I have to catch the 6:10am train or the 6:02am train on the weekends.I finish at 3pm which is good becuase it give me time to look around the city and shop! =D Guests are not always the nicesst, but we deal.

At least now my family aren't complaing I'm not doing anything productive...

Saving up to travel, more on that later.

Hello... again....

Hmm it's been awhile, not becuase I haven't had any time, and not because I don't have anything to write about, and i do have every intention to write, but I just can't be stuffed. But of course when I need to get something done, that I have the sudden urge to write an entry.

Hmm important things that have happened... ( and little notes that I haven't written on my white board...)

I think I might post many short posts and see if I can actually get them done.

Here goes...

Out on the Town

This is mostly for Claire, so if you are reading this and you don’t know who I’m talking about, sorry.

So I have this friend, let’s call her… Susan… Her boyfriend broke up with her 2 days before her birthday, she cancelled her big party and was going to spend the day mopping but she decided to have a small gathering at a pub. This pub ended up being a sports bar, which is basically 90:10, men:women ratio, which would be fine except, the median age was about 37. ‘Susan’ was dressed quite scantily already being the revenge stage in the seven steps of grief, there was some really nice live music on and the cricket was on so I was quite happy being there, ‘Susan’ wanted to dance so we danced, while ‘Rachael’ and ‘Jess’ went outside for some air, Sam had to leave early as she had work the next day.
So ‘Susan’ then proceeded to hook up with a decent looking guy, he wanted more, and she told him to go fly kite, then about 10 minutes later, she chatted up this guy who was about 40, while I talked this guys mate and his wife. This 40 year old guy was really having a bar of ‘Susans’ advances so she eventually gave, up not before, ‘Rachael’, ‘Jess’ and I gave her dirty and disapproving looks. Moving on, ‘Susan’s’ supposed best friend was no where to be seen, she was at another party a friend of her boyfriends and she didn’t rock up to see ‘Susan’ until 2 o’clock, that’s pretty indecent, but she has always been unreliable. ‘Susan’ was angry and thus bitching ensued. Until I left at 12.
The next day ‘Susan’ messaged me asking me not to put the pics of her hooking with randoms on the net, not like I was going to do it in the first place, but I’m glad she came to her senses, or so I thought….

So on the Tuesday she met up with Don, this guy she met on Schoolies…. A major toolie! Like by 12 years… figure it out… and then proceeded to the nasty things in his car. Then she told her ex about it. She then changed his DP on Facebook to him kissing some chick. Then ‘Susan’ rang me absolutely furious that he had done that. Um, Please Explain, it’s all very confusing. So that is the haps with ‘Susan’ enjoy!

Back to the Grind

Three weeks late, my first week back at Uni!

It was nice to get back to uni my chair was staring to get a permanent imprint of my butt. All my classes are new and they are Accounting and Management for Entrepreneurs, Leisure Industry Enterprise management, Leisure and Tourism Marketing and Accommodation Operations Management. How fluffy do they sound! Fancy names does not equal fancy subjects, for instance, Accommodation Operations Management involves making beds. Two of my lecturers are not the most riveting people, and I have a 8 hour Monday which from week 8 is a 10 hour Monday, but I’m not really complaining gets it all out of the way for a four day weekend! Tuesday I have one 1 hour Tute and Wednesday is 11 – 4 but with 2 tute and one lecture that usually finishes early.

After some confusion with the enrollment, my friend Qantas is now doing my course, which is fun, more people to talk my nonsense too!

The assignments are space nicely and I’m going to Queensland on September 26th MY BIRHTDAY!

A few more designs!

Relax take it easy...

So i've been on Uni holidays since the end of the June, hence all the blogging. My holidays have been very interesting, relaxing and fun.

So I have been on a quest to find a job, and no luck yet, but it's not for a lack for trying, people just don't want to hire me =(

No lose thought it has given me time to do other things like, get my hair cut. It's been awhile and I was out int he city with some of my mates when Steph asked Sam and I if we wanted to be 'hair models' at her mother's salon. So Sam and I took a trip to Brunswick and sat down to get our hair cut, by trainees, they weren't really trainees, they had been cutting for at lear 6-8 years, they were just learning new techniques, the girl that was cutting my hair was really nice, knew what she was doing and made my hair look great, layered all the way around, and short in the front, well short for me, it's about the same length as my face, it's what I call short. It's really good I'm wearing my hair down a whole lot more. Exciting!

I got my Uni results back, and guess what I passed everything, not well, but I passed, two B's, one C and one D. The D was for the subject i had most trouble with on the exam, truned out ok though! Need to not leave things to the last moment this semester!

I've also been driving alot with Dad, since Gary went back to Malaysia, he has been the only one to take me driving since mother gets a little to scared for me. It's been good he took me on a really long drive to Kinglake, where the devastating fires were in January. The roads were really narrow and windy, and the all i could see was black burnt tree it was very sad. I've also been generally driving around, leanring how to park it's been good, but dad gets annoyed and frustrated, but I don;t let is get to me, or else that would probally make it worse.

Avenue Q

So the Awesomeeness of Avenue Q came to Melbourne.

I went on the 18th of July and it was great I loved every moment, even the really weird but fun to watch puppet sex. The puppeteers were great as were their voices, top notch on both the singing and the accents. I thought i twas going to be hard to concentrate on the puppets, but my eyes were instantly drawn to them. Especially there is one scene where the same actress is the voices for two of the characters on stage, I hardly even noticed with the perfectly timed puppeteering and change of tone in the voice. Amazing stuff!
Princeton - Could really see the naivety in the character, Fun to watch, very easily relatable.
Rod - Played by the same actor (Mitchell Butel) as Princeton, was great as Rod, extremely flamboyant, and whiniy fitted the character really well.
Nicky/Trekkie Monster(Luke Joslin) - I liked his voice, thought it was very good, but my friend thought it was wasnt monster/ Erine-esk enough.
We had the understudy for the Kate and Lucy the Slut i think her name was Natalie Alexopoulos, she was fantasic, great voice, fantastic acting.
The only character that I had a little bit of a problem with was Gary Coleman, she was a bit to, lets face it,white, and the ac6ting seemed a bit forced. Maybe it had to be, becuase some of the jokes that were centreded around Gary Coleman weren't really got by the Australian audience.
Thats another thing, although i thought it was fine, maybe becuase I have watched so much of it on youtube, was the americaness of it. I know that sound pretentious, by my friends asked me at interval, why it was called Avenue Q, and I had to explain about Alphabet city and other things like that. Although I must say they did try their best to make it more realtable, especially when they changed the words in For Now, from 'Geroge Bush', to 'Swine Flu' that defiantly got a laugh.

My mates that went with me, hadn't really heard much of the soundtrack, besides the songs they heard when I was obsessed with the musical. They loved them, thought they were very witty and cleverly done. Crude, but good crude, spoke the truth. One of the songs called "What do I do with a BA in English" at interval, Nick turned to me and said what do I do with a BA, as that is what she is studying in Uni. 'The Internet Is For Porn' was a definatly crowd pleaser but caused a problem when signing it in public, as is the song 'Everyone is a little bit racist', although when someone accuses me of being racist I do break into song. Schadenfreude is very true!
And the song For Now helped me get though last year, becuase I knew it wasn't going to last forever only for now!

I deifnalty walked out of the theatre with a smile on my face!

Torchwood

So UKTV was kind enough to fast track, I mean Super fast track the new season of Torchwood: Children of Earth from the UK. Basically a mini series of 5 episodes that all link together and make one story arc.

I really enjoyed it, there were some major events that could have been left out, because it was too sad =(, and you could see that they tied off lose ends just in case they get cancelled, and they also left a wide opening to let Captain jack return to Doctor who, which i would also be very happy about. The Children speaking together was well creepy, the aliens were a bit weak, seeing as we never actually see them. The team didn't seem to be that much affect by the lose of 2 members in the last season, i think they were trying to make this a stand alone season, so everyone could watch it. Definatly liked the fact the cliff hanger only lasted one day. Loved the Janto wish there was more.

Overall a very good story, will defiantly watch again soon!

Sorrento

So two weeks ago I went back to Sorrento for a bit of a Holiday, relaxation after exams. I ahd an amazing time.
I was a bit apprehensive at first because half the people that were going I had never met before, but they turned out to be lovely!
First night we played the drinking game kings, which will always end badly.
The second day Millie, Sam and I went for a walk to Sorrento, and got caught in a torrential downpour, which soaked one side of our clothes. The third day Millie, Sam, Chris, Russell and I went to Rye to get souvlakis, which were fabulous and hit the spot. At night we drank way to much and definatly felt it in the morning. All in all a great time would definatly do it again.
The house was lovely, 4 rooms, 2 with ensuite, massive kitchen, nice loungeroom, and a deck.

Some pictures of our adventures.

Harry Potter + the Musical!

One more post for today before I go to bed.

Tonight I saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
I really enjoyed it, although they did cut out most of the story of the Half Blood Prince, which might make it a little bit difficult to link up with the seventh movie, but I'm sure they will find a way. The general idea of the book was shown, with the start of Harry's 'quest', it was nicely set up. The movie was much less darker then that of the Order of the Phoenix, there were some nice lighthearted scenes with Ron(Chocolates) and Harry(Spider). There was some nice D&M moments with Harry and Hermione. The romance between Ginny and Harry seemed a little forced and although it is all well and good to have the same actress play Ginny, someone maybe a shorter then Harry might have been better.
Overall I think is one of the better Potter films and a 8.5/10.

----------------------------------------------

A VERY POTTER MUSICAL

This is one of the best things i have seen all year it is a musical written by students of UMich loosely based on most of the Harry Potter books. I loved every second of this, the acting is awesome as is the singing, but the songs are hilarious! My favourite character is Draco, and although deep down it pains me to say this, Voldermort is FINE! It is Camp-tastic!

Act 1, Scene 1

Nail Art

I love to do my nails, it relaxes me, slows everything down. I've started doing some designs and things.
I have the Konad nail stamping set. Which is great fun to play around with, and the detail is fantastic, I also have been trying out free hand but only simple designs.
I love bright colours on nails!

Please ignore my friends cuticles.

All my nail Polishes are super cheap all under $10. The brands are 'The Face Shop' and 'L.A. Girl' ( disco and flare)

Blue Eyes

Mika has got a new album out called 'Songs of Sorrow' and I am really liking a song on there called Blue Eyes, it is beautifully written, very melodic. You use to be able to listen to this song plus two other on his site, www.mikasounds.com, but they took Blue Eyes down which was a shame, but here is sung live.

I have only ever disliked one of Mika's songs and it was the hidden track, Grace Kelly reminds me of my trip to France because I first heard it there, and it was playing is every shop.

I'm bored, I'm awesome, it's almost one...

So my posts a few and far between, and every time I got to write something it has no substance, but does a blog need to have substance, maybe that's my problem is that I think there has to be something fun interesting to blog about. So from now on I think I will blog about nothing is particular, cool video, interesting articles, strange pictures, and so on and so forth.

The title of this blog is "I'm bored, I awesome,it's almost one..." come from the song "Blue Hair" by Joe Iconis, I didn't instantly love it when I first heard it, but it began to grow on me and now I tend to sing it often, usually loudly and in the shower. I first found it on UrInTown (one of the best channels ever)on youtube, sung by the fabulous Courtney Wolfson.

Always makes me smile when I listen to this song, because at one point last year, I did want to dye my hair blue.

My Holiday...

Well this has been a long time coming but I suppose it has to be done, because it will be lost in the crevasse that is my mind. So after a week of absolute chaos, of 13 girls sharing a three bedroom house with 2 bathrooms, of drunk girls, one night stands (not on my part), budgets, shopping, bitches and bosses, couches (where I slept), beaches, singstar, movies and friends. I thought it would be nice to come back to a quite house and relax. At the Beach in Rye.

And we are off!
Dad, Me, Brendan, Mum and Jane.

I was wrong, I come back home exhausted and have 24 hours to pack for a 6 weeks trip, there are people rushing trying to find things that are already packed, dad trying to organise better seats and just general un-calmness. So I have one night in my warm and cosy bed, before the next night we have to get on a plane which is delayed forty- five minutes, which wouldn’t be so bad except it was expected at 2:30am and it didn’t start boarding until about 3:30am, fun times, well it was Brendan and I built a awesome Lego building! Finally got on the plane only to discover that it feels like the seats are made of pure metal, imagine, old school bus seats, with seat belts, that is AirAsia seats. You have to pay for TV, pay for blankets and pillows, pay for all food and beverages. Hmm so it wasn’t a comfy ride neck hurt and was quite cramped but I got my sleep. Arrived in Malaysia in the discount arrival gate, dodgy! Got hit by the weather! Since it was Jane’s first time out of Australia it was fun to see her reaction to stuff, like toilets funny, she took a picture of nearly every toilet she went into, although I don’t think that is legal. Got picked up and was all dandy on the way home it was nice to get see some familiar sights, all the houses in KK and my family again. We were shown to our room, which is actually Gary’s, and Mum, Jane and I slept there, awesome room!

Ok so the next bit is going to be compressed because it gets a little boring.

So the next day, dad left of
Penang and Mum and Jane left for Thailand, and so for the next five days until they got back Brendan and I shopped. Anne took us, and then when Gary came he took us. Somewhere in the middle of this I got my VCE results which I was terribly not impressed with, but Gary took me shopping and things were all good. More shopping continued, eating at Yogitree, seeing Twilight, (which was an event all in it self, it’s pretty shocking(ly funny) on the first view, but what made it worse was that there has a single guy in his 40’s sitting next to Brendan totally ingrossed in the movie so much so he kept gasping and saying ‘Aih-oh’, and they cut out all the kissing scenes, all two of them but it defiantly missed something.), Mega Shopping malls, white belts, dresses and food, that is my favourite part, the eating in grungy little shops for really cheap Love it!! I really liked those days, it was the first quite time I had in awhile and it was nice just to sit alone at the house and read. Soon enough they were back with force, Adrian finally came as did Ah Fee Sok(sp?) and Anne Z, which brought the grand total of the house up to 15, wow it was schoolies again! Dad put on 12 kilos in 5 days! WOAH!

The wedding/anniversary dinner/celebration was on the 20th of December and we all dressed in our best (my new dress) and offered tea to Evelyn and Milos, then moved into the dining ha
ll and had a 12 course meal, there were speeches and slide shows and my dad infamous Yum Seng which brought the house down. It was an excellent night of celebration and fun.
Double Celebration.

The 21st there was more celebration with the winter solstice, and Indian food. Then we had 3 days to kill before went off to Blenhiem on the 25th, Christmas Day. More shopping ensued where I have to say for a none Christian country the decorations are way better and Christmas carols rang out of every speaker.
On the 24th we went to church with was fully packed so much so they set up tents and chairs to fit people with big projector screens, we sang our hearts out whether it be in English or Latin, for some strange reason we liked to sing no matter what. At the end of mass they gave out prizes... like Mobile phones, wow! We didn’t win :( We came home and opened pressies! Yay!

Christmas day we went to Blenhiem, although really nice, I wasn’t feeling the Christmas spirit. The house which was recently renovated slept 33 people, which again felt like schoolies, only with much older people. One of the requirements of going to Blenheim is playing Water Volley, there are only a few exceptions, but basically if you don’t play you won’t be invited back. It starts at about 4pm when it starts getting cooler and you play until it gets dark, there is basically one rule, you can’t smash, which was fine because I’m not tall enough too. It’s always great fun no matter if you win or lose. But for the rest of the day you can do whatever the hell you want, play basketball, sauna, pool, walks around the plantation, general lounging all acceptable. Although there were so many people, I hardly saw any of them, that’s how big the place was. There was so much food, either cooked by the cook, or brought, but if you are bored all you have to do it eat! We also play charades on one for the nights which is always a laugh and half.
Back to KK in the morning of the 28th and then off too Singapore by bus with my boys, dad, Adrian and Brendan, the same night, it was nice five hour bus ride, a million times better seating then AirAsia! We arrived at 4am and went straight to the hotel, where were slept for a few hours before heading out. We went to Raffles place where Adrian had a job meeting. Did a bit of shopping then went to my uncle’s house, where I met some of my cousins for the first time! It was excellent seeing Tracy again, wish we didn’t live in different countries! Had dinner which was the best-est chicken rice ever! Then after dinner we went walking down the famous Orchard Road, better Christmas decorations then Australia again, shame Australia. Lovely city at night, beautiful weather and awesome things to look at.
On the 30th we had a shopping day the stuff was nice but the due to the exchange rate everything was pretty much the same price. But they had a Sephora which made me so happy! Even though I didn’t buy anything I literally tried every product there, I smelt good AND I was glittery! More shopping then more food.
The 31st we went to Wet Wet Wild with Anne Z, awesome funny hilarious ride, where she screamed the whole bloody place down. Then went back to the hotel and got ready to celebrate the New Year,
Tracy came with us and we watched the fireworks from a bridge, perfect view. After the streets we so fully packed it wasn’t funny, but there were all so calm and collect and followed everyone, there was no pushing or shoving, it was SO weird. Then the next day it was off, to Macau!
New Years, with Brendan, Anne, Tracy and I.

Artistic Shot!

Night Safari!

Pretty Christmas Decorations!

A three to four hour flight on AirAsia to
Macau not so bad, just long haul not good. Arrived then had to wait for mum and Jane arrived, which was another few hours. The hotel was a bit grungy, our toilet didn’t work, and the carpet was dirty, but I could see China from my window. Macau in a nut shell:
- It’s a European town in regards to architecture, well at least the old part, only with asian faces.
- The floor are cobbled
- Quiet as at night
- They sold sweet meat on every corner
- People are a little bit scary (weird guy yelling at dad telling him how to order)
- The Casinos are ridiculously huge and grand, the Wynn, Grand Lisboa…
- Food not so great
- Gambled for the first time
- look at a million flashing lights
- Eat food out of a moving cooker, very funny for Jane!
- Road in a gondola in the Venetian hotel! Hot guy singing, sigh!
- Bought cheap underwear
- Saw lots of hookers, one of which asked
Adrian up to her room, which he replied “do you know where the roulette table is?”
Then it was over and we were on a 45 minute ferry journey to
Hong Kong. In which you could hear people throwing up around you, nice.
Venetian Casino, The boys in a Gondala.

This is inside!

Hong Kong arrived on the 3rd evening and went to our hotel, which was pretty swank, it was on the Kowloon side and it was on a Hill which was a killer to get up, especially after a very long day of shopping, we were just off Nathan Road which is its famous shopping strip. When we got there we explored for a bit until, dinner time where we met up with Fanna, cousin Anne’s friend, who took us up to the peak, it had the most beautiful view ever, over Hong Kong Island and then over too the mainland, it was magnificent. After that we went to the temple street market, a market that is open every day. It’s an entire street; I bought bags, and some fun clothes. The two streets flanking it, one sells only sports shoes, and the other sells only electronics, amazing! Then I had my first taste of real Hong Kong style tea and it was amazing, after that I ordered it with every meal, in HK they also have this version of French toast which is deep fried, wow!

The next day we took a ferry across to the
Hong Kong Island and met Clara, my god mother whom I have never met. Then Adrian I continued to shop and we went to H&M and some other fun stores. To get from one side to the other you can also use the MTR or MRT and use an oyster card or was it octopus, they had a VERY similar system in Singapore, and I get confused. The next day was Brendan’s 21st birthday and poor fellow he had been sick nearly the whole holiday, so on his 21st birthday he had to give a stool sample, lovely!
Then that night we went to on a ferry ride around the harbour and saw the symphony of lights, I love cities at night, I love the lights against the black background. It was so fun and I love boats. After that we went to dinner at this Italian place near our hotel it was so nice, and the food was bloody good. The next few days passed without much fuss, a lot more shopping and food eating!

Hong Kong Street.

Brendan's Birthday Dinner.

Wall of Beads!

On the Ferry in the Day.

Night view from the peak, most awesome view ever!

We came back to Malaysia on the 9th and started are mad packing to get everything to fit, I didn’t have much of a problem but Jane was struggling! The day before we left I went to the central market, and I got my feet eaten by small fish, and then sucked at my bigger fish, one of the weirdest moments in my life and it tickled like hell! And that was the end we left on the 11th in the morning, we had to go for one last breakfast of kon loh mee before we had to go, and it was goodbye Asia, Hello Melbourne! I had a fantastic time and hope I can do it again soon! Defiantly miss the people and the food, but I was glad to be home, and in a house with less then 15 people!

Adrian and I getting our feet eaten by fish.... it tickled!

Haha, I said compressed.
